  • Products: Only vending trucks and trailers will be accepted for the Cape Town Carnival 2019 event. The Cape Town Carnival parade is a creative explosion of design, movement and music. This year our theme is Vuka Ukhanye - Arise and Shine. We will be looking at vendors whose products fit this theme. Applications that lends itself to the Cape Town Carnival concept will receive preference. No toys, crafts or flea market items are permitted. All items for sale must be Carnival related. i.e. Masks, Carnival costume and carnival headgear.
  • No items which have not been approved by the Cape Town Carnival Vendor Manager may be sold at the event. Liquor will strictly only be sold at the event bars. No vendor will be allowed to sell cold beverage and water, unless arranged with the Vendor Manager. Peninsula Beverages is a partner to the event and will allocate several Mobi's along the route. All food vendors must have a valid Certificate of Acceptability and a Business License. Vendors using gas must also have a Gas Certificate. The following documents must be submitted for your application to be considered. Note that the branding name on the food truck must match the documentation provided.
  • Due to severe water restrictions being experienced by Cape Town, please note that unfortunately there will not be any water available on site.
  • Each stall that uses ANY form of heat MUST supply a certified fire extinguisher, fire blanket and be mindful of the Disaster Management status.
  • Vending units: ONLY TRAILERs or FOOD TRUCKS are allowed. Please Note: The size & description of your food trailer / truck is very important. Please provide us with the total size (this must include towbar and cage, where applicable)
  • Due to the increase in power costs and the lengthy duration from set up to strike, vendors requiring power for refrigeration and or cooking please provide us with a list of their equipment requiring power and the power requirements. These costs will be additional to a vending fee. Please note there is limited electricity available on site, so make sure that you specify exact power requirements below. Stalls will be strategically placed along the Fan Walk and according to gas or electricity operations. Power usage inspections will be conducted throughout the trading period as doubling up with various adapters will affect the event's power supply. Vendors using more than applied for will be asked to disconnect and may have their power cut entirely.
